Serving the Community

The volunteer program at Mercy Medical Center Merced offers community members an opportunity to enrich their lives by giving their time and talents to serve others. Our dedicated volunteers work throughout the hospital adding a personal touch to patient care.

Volunteers at Mercy are members of the Mercy family. By donating your time, you will have an opportunity to meet people with similar interests, and get the satisfaction of knowing you are filling an important need in our community.

Learn more about volunteering at Mercy:

History
The volunteer program began on November 9, 1970. There were 24 charter members under the guidance of the first president Nancy Crane. Over time, the group has grown, with the combining of Community Campus on April 1, 2001 putting the program at over 150 members. Since the group's inception, the volunteers have donated over 1 million hours of service to Mercy Hospital. Through their gift shop, the group purchases equipment for the hospital.

Active Members
Volunteers at Mercy are individuals who provide a variety of services in the hospital. Active members contribute a minimum of three hours a week and attend one reorientation per year and complete additional annual training requirements as necessary for their work assignments.
