My most rewarding experience practing at Mercy Medical Center is the mentorship of two established orthopods has resulted in a speedy ramp-up in my private practice. The Mercy Medical Staff is supportive of new physicians and open to the development of new referral patterns once the new physician creates a track record.
When I completed my residency program in orthopaedic surgery I chose Mercy Medical Center Merced for some very specific reasons.Merced is growing quickly, due in large part to the opening of the tenth University of California campus in Merced and because of the pleasant and affordable living conditions in the area. This rapid growth in population has led to a demonstrated community need for additional orthopaedic specialists. Coverage in the Emergency Department was limited to only ten days per month. Mercy encouraged me to expand the coverage in the E.D. and provides block time in the O.R. on Monday morning to treat patients seen over the weekend. I have also appreciated the hospital’s flexibility in allowing me to use my vendor of choice for implants. The Hospital has supported me in the first year of my practice and has made it possible for me to live in a wonderful community that needs the skills I bring to my practice here.
