Second Year Residents continued...

Felicia Jodhka, MD
I was born and raised in California and spent my childhood years in the fertile land of the Central Valley. I graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biological Sciences and subsequently graduated from American University of the Caribbean, School of Medicine located on the beautiful island of St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles. I completed my third and fourth year medical rotations in New York and California, and it was during these critical years that I grew fond of Family Medicine and the altruistic principles that it represents. In addition to Family Medicine, I have a passion for expository writing, singing, playing the harmonium (a Southeast Asian musical instrument), and running.

Savneet Kaur, MD
I was born and raised in Punjab, a northern state of India. Growing up in a family of physicians naturally and inevitably tailored my interest in medicine. My strong desire to become a physician led me to pursue my education at Kasturba Medical College, India. I relocated to United States after marriage to be with my husband and we are now blessed with a three year old son. Outside of work, I like to keep myself busy with swimming, bhangra (a Punjabi folk dance) and of course enjoying time with my family. I want to dedicate my career to improving the health of the underserved communities through direct patient care, education and prevention.

Theresa T. Chang, MD
I am Theresa Chang from Myanmar. I attended medical school there and after completing my internship, I moved to the United States to join my family in Fresno, CA. I am married to a most wonderful and caring husband. I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking and traveling. Like other Californians and a true fan of warm weather, I honestly feel that Central Valley is always my home and I intend to serve the community here as a family physician for many, many years to come. I am very happy and proud to be a member of Mercy Medical Center Merced.

Third Year Residents

Humberto Barragan, D.O.
I was born in the state of Jalisco, Mexico and spent most of my childhood as a migrant. My parents would travel up and down the East coast, from Florida to Michigan, following the harvest of different fruits and vegetables. Even though my siblings and I were always enrolled in school during our travels, my parents realized that we needed to stop migrating in order for us to acquire the education necessary to become professionals and avoid the hard and labor intensive work that they had to do. I honored that wise decision and continued my education by going to Merced College, CSU Long Beach, and graduating with a Bachelor’s in Chemistry from CSU Fresno. After working with E & J Gallo Winery for several years as a research chemist, I finally decided to do what I had always set my mind on, Medicine. I attended Touro University for 2 years and then did my 3rd clinical year at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield and finally my 4th year at Fresno.

Noshaba Chughtai, M.D.
I graduated from Khyber Medical College in Pakistan. For a few years, I worked as a medical officer in charge of the health care of fifty villages in rural Pakistan. I was responsible for the health care of more than 50,000 people. During this time I took care of everyone in the village, and was in-charge of malaria control, tuberculosis and universal immunizations. In 2000, I immigrated to USA with my husband and two sons.
