Welcome to the new Mercy Medical Physician Recruitment website. Mercy is proud to have served Merced County for over 84 years.

Now is a great time to be in Merced! The community is growing at a rapid rate and Mercy Medical Center is changing to keep pace with the demands of our community. A 185-bed replacement hospital is under construction, with opening planned for late 2009. The physician leaders of our 227 member medical staff are helping plan for a state-of-the-art facility that will provide a comfortable environment for our patients and a convenient place for physicians to practice. A medical office building adjacent to the hospital will maximize efficiencies for physicians.

Merced is known as the “Gateway to Yosemite” due to our proximity to the grandeur of the national park. Mercy Medical Center can be your “gateway” to a successful medical career when you join an existing practice or establish a solo practice in a medical community known for its collegiality.

A brand new hospital staffed by experienced nurses and ancillary personnel dedicated to the provision of compassionate care to all members of the community we serve.

UC Merced is in the planning stages for a medical school to be established in Merced. Mercy Medical Center is partnering with the UC in their efforts to define the scope of the school and the timeline to opening.
