An affiliate of UC Davis Cancer Network Mercy Hospital, in partnership with local physicians and UC Davis Medical (UCD), recently constructed a cancer center to provide comprehensive services to all those seeking cancer care.

The mission of the center is "To improve the health status of our community by providing cancer care through a collaborate effort with Mercy Hospital and Health Services and UC Davis." 

There are five major components to the center:

Radiation Oncology

• Dual-energy electron beam producing state-of-the-art linear accelerator with multileaf collimator
• State-of-the-art simulator designed to exactly duplicate the geometric features of the linear accelerator
   

Medical Oncology

• Comprehensive medical treatment
• Research Protocol

Telemedicine Services

• Provision of health care services in an interactive fashion with a patient at a location remote from the provider

Comprehensive Disease Management

• Prevention
• Screening
• Treatment
• Symptom Management

Prevention and Education

• Community Education Center programs
• Family Education
• Support Programs
